Forgive the entry-level question but I'm a MIDI dinosaur who just recently entered the dongle era!
I have the Korg Digital USB Wavestation and it's great but wonder:
1. Is it possible to assign different sounds to different MIDI channels in a traditional way, so that I can have multiple Wavestation sounds play at once as triggered by a sequencer in my laptop? I don't see a way to make those assignments: doesn't matter what MIDI channel-out i select on my laptop sequencer, Wavestation plays whatever sound is pulled up at the moment.
2. If not, is that possible using the old Wavestation SR rack unit?
Basically I want to do what a circa 1991 synth will do: assign a sound to a MIDI channel and go to town, limited only by my laptop's ability to generate all those voices.
thanks for your help!

You're using a softsynth now - stop thinking like you're using hardware.youdevil wrote:Forgive the entry-level question but I'm a MIDI dinosaur who just recently entered the dongle era!

Just create multiple instances of Wavestation on different tracks and assign them to different MIDI channels.
