Korg Legacy Analog on Oasys?
I just noticed that Korg has released a new set of sounds for the Poly Six and MS-20. Is there any way we can use these on the Oasys? I tried to download the demo but it requires a USB protection key. I was hoping to either copy the settings from my PC screen, or somehow convert the new sounds to Oasys format.

They would have to be revoiced for EXi LAC-1. So, currently, no.

It works!
Great news - we can do it!
There are new sounds on Korguser.net, plus a bunch of older ones for the Poly Six and MS-20. I loaded these into Korg Virtual Analog and there are some cool sounds there. It takes some time, but these can all be duplicated on the Oasys.
It looks like there is a common software codebase between KVA and LAC-1; all the same knobs are there, just in a slightly different order. I was able to just match the settings one knob at a time and get some great new sounds on the Oasys. Plus, the O has a lot of additional features such as being able to modulate just about any of the knobs. It was also a great learning experience. There is just so much depth in each of the sound engines...

I tried to do this a year ago or so. It took me several hours to copy the parameters for just one (1) Legacycell patch. And then I still had to guess fx settings 'cause they're not the same in the Oasys, but are important for the character of the patch.
Still, I wish Korg would release converted patches for the Oasys!

".. if you take the time to duplicate these sounds it would be highly appreciated, if you share your finished work as a PCG file"
-- Yes, that is my plan. Can anyone recommend a good place to host these files? We need to make it easier to share patches as a community. There are already so many PCG files around, it would be great to have a librarian feature on the Oasys, or the PC, which made it easier to mix and match our favorites. More combis and programs would not hurt either.

-- Yeah, it does take lots of time, but gets easier with practice. FX settings are much easier now with the latest presets. We probably can't count on Korg anymore - have to work together as a community.

I've been thinking that I ought to resurrect my Librarian now the Oasys development has stopped. The reason I put it on hold was that things kept changing (which was a good thing!!) and I was have a tricky time with ensuring compatibility. That's not an issue now. The actual functionality that allowed to open a number of PCG files and bulk copy/past between them worked great. There was another feature which I personally use a LOT and that was the ability to audition items via MIDI/sysex. That went a little wonky with the introduction of MOD-7 as underlying things changed a little and stopped me from doing that safely. I didn't want my software breaking anyone's Oasys, especially mine
As for converting ... I've done a bunch of conversion utils in Radias/R3/MS2000 land and could do this one too if I had the info and the time. However IIRC Korg themselves might have a tool for doing this. Either that or Dan did a lot of legwork converting those Devine patches he posted to korguser.net.

Better get back to work now, but will look later. Thanks for bringing the idea to the table
