This night I'll start a 9-hours journey to go in the south Italy for summer vacation, ust one week, but in a quite nice place, I hope
I'll be there with my girlfriend and other 2 friends.

I hope the best for you in these days,

Lucky lad, you! It's been many years since i was in Sicily - a three month gig at Sigonella U.S. Naval Air Station.

If you get over to Sicily, don't miss out on Taormina, not far from Catania. It's a beautiful spot and you can take a trip up on Mount Etna - a great experience.

Hi!!

I've came back home yesterday night, after a 12-hours journey by car...
Huge traffic on italian streets in these days.

It's been a very nice week, I'll post some picts ASAP.

Awesome. I hate long car trips myself. And I hate planes. Hmmm. I am such a home/studio body anymore! 8) Looking forward to the pics bro!

Yeah!!
Yesterday night I downloaded pictures to my girlfriend's pc; there some quite nice pictures on it, so they're on their way...

Here you are the veeeeery long car trip I had: http://maps.google.it/maps?f=d&saddr=co ... F8&t=h&z=6

We were two couples (me, my girlfriend Cinzia, and two other friends, Marco and Roberta), and we used Marco's car: http://www.bmw.it/it/it/newvehicles/1se ... ction.html
Quite confortable, but after 11.5 hours our ass was in pain

Next Monday I'm off to New Brunswick on our east coast - two flights, 3.5 hours and 2 hours. A first for me (well, I've been to Nova Scotia before) but I'll see if I can post a couple of pics. It's supposed to be a beautiful part of the world. Maybe the fall colours will be in full swing.

I'm jealous, we did a stay-cation this year, spent a week right here in Chicago doing tourist stuff and had a blast. There is so much to do here, including excellent theater. And the weather was perfect for swimming and long walks along the lake front.

Well, I would pay to stay here in Como for my summer vacation...
The problem is that's nearly impossibile due to foreign turists: it's wonderful that our Lake of Como is known all over the world, and I love to see tourists saying "how beautiful" in front of the lake, but prices have became unbeliveble...

George, we can do that exchange: I'll be in Chicago for the stay-cation, and you come over here...what about that?

You'll be more than welcome here if you want to visit Como or Milan (I live about half way between these two).
On the other side, my spot (without considering Bahamas) is coming in the USA!
