Drum Note Names - Text format

Post by tripecac »

I'm trying to create some Triton drum maps.

I have the note names in PDF format but would love to have them in text format so that I can copy and paste them.

Any idea where I can find them?

Open up the PDF and select File.
There should be an option called Save as Text.

I tried that. I'm using FoxIt, which doesn't have export to text unless you spend $$$. I'll try it on linux.

...

Nope, ubuntu's PDF viewer doesn't have a "Save As" or "Export" option either.

I'll try to find a PDF-to-text utility if such a thing exists.

Adobe has an online PDF-to-text converter:
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/a ... tools.html

Here's the Triton Voice Name List:
http://www.korg.com/downloads/pdf/trnvnl.pdf

The online conversion didn't work for me (in Firefox); it just kept showing the "Please wait while the requested PDF file is being converted" message forever. However, the email option worked fine.

So now I have a very ugly text file with the voice names. I'll see if I can make it legible and then upload it.

Yuck, adobe's text and html exports were horrible to parse. Their HTML was invalid, inefficient, and generally GROSS. Oh well.

Fortunately, I found drum note names defined in the Triton Studio cakewalk instrument definition at the top of this page:

http://www.tritonhaven.com/downloads/patterns.html

I just have the "vanilla" Triton (not the Triton Studio), but the note names seem to be the same.

I'll try those for now, and will post my results here (if anyone is interested).

Do you have Abobe Reader installed on your computer?
If so, the lastest version has a Save to Text function already built in.
It's on the Windows version, and probably the Linux version.

No, I avoid adobe's products. Too slow.

I have the instrument definitions with drum maps (thanks to the other .ins files floating around the internet). However, that only handles banks A and B.

I need to find the voice name lists for banks C and D. Any idea where those are (in any format)?

to do that. pdftotext or something.

It's difficult to parse, I guess, but I write programs to handle that.
