Phantom Power or lack there of. Any suggestions???

Post by RhythmRebel »

Will be doing some recordings this weekend and have just realised that my old and decrepit mixing desk doesn't have a Phantom Power button for my condenser mics, is there a way to remedy this situation or do I have to buy a separate piece of equipment?

Phantom Power Supplies are very inexpensive, so that's the good news, the bad news...no way around it, sorry.
Good luck.

Perhaps it would be better to buy an inexpensive modern mixer with phantom power to replace an "old and decrepit" one, than to buy multiple phantom P/S.

Buying individual P/S are throwing good money after bad. There's plenty of good, inexpensive, new mixers available, and the lack of phantom power probably isn't the only feature lacking in the old one.
