If you use the MX on its own you will no doubt notice that the grooves go slightly out of time at moments , this is a pain at times but there is a way round it .
Listen to the drumsounds you pick , listen VERY carefully for the time it takes for the apex of the drum sound to come thrugh ( the loudest point ) and workout whether you need to pitch up/down with the drum , and whether it needs compression or not .
When getting all the drums rolling use the "SWING/SHUFFLE" to move drums forward and "SW ON/OFF" on individual parts to move them back .
The APEX , POSITiON , and SPEED of the drum hits will determine how well the groove move along .
Setting the overall tempo will also help tighten/loosen your rythyms .
And if you still end up loosing "FLOW" then you'll just have to shift around some beats until they all move naturally throughout your loops .
I hope this helps those of u using an MX only as it has taken a while for me to master the art of quantizing myself .

yeah , i find that using swing or not on certain parts can loosen/tighten the overall movement . Or , its also usefull for giving a nice skip to rythms when in higher usage .
How it need be used is usueally dictated by the rythm and drums within it . Having the apex of a drum come thru at the right point is essential to me , so compression and swing adjustment help things flow the way i like .
Pitching of drums also makes a difference to how fasrt the loudest part of the drum comes thru. It may only be milliseconds , but it helps .

That is why I wished the EMX had quantizing by PPQ.... http://www.monitor.ca/monitor/issues/vo ... rmidi.htmlIt may only be milliseconds , but it helps
have a good one

Yeah exactly !!
I sometimes need to use my pc to get a groove to sound right , depending on the kinda groove and speed .
I dont understand why korg wouldnt have the X-tribes clock run more regularly . It doesnt bother me now as much cos ive learned how to adjust settings here n there to keep things flowing right .
Does anyone know of a bit of gear that can be used to control the emx1 timing . Or if i can even make one ?
I can get close to flawless qauntizing if i need , but its never Quite 100% ( or even 99% ) . The timing IS still good tho on the emx/esx anyway .

good point
well the art with this machines is to overcome their weaknesses,so you are the one playing with the machine and not the machine is playing, have you tried to copy your midi data,in to a sequencer, edit the quantization, and the play back and record it in electribe, have never tried but teoricaly should work
