Re: Error update 3.1.2 to 3.1.4
I completed the OS update from 3.1.2 to 3.1.4 . However, all the uncompressed files were loaded into the root directory of the FAT32 formatted USB stick. The stick was loaded into K2 and the software update appeared to complete. The OS currently reported is 3.1.4. IN my case the tar.gz file was ...

Re: Error update 3.1.2 to 3.1.4
My thanks go out to both of you!!! Update successful. In DISK mode I formatted the USB stick in Fat32, then copied the entire unzipped update files and folders to its root directory first. My thoughts were that either the KRONOS did not like PC formatted fat 32 disk or the fact that the PDF ...

Error update 3.1.2 to 3.1.4
After DL update zip file 3.1.4, I unzipped and saved to folder. The contents were copied to a flash drive . The only folder not copied were the PDF folder with multilingual pdfs. Flashdrive inserted to the K2, going to global, the update option was selected. The files on the stick were seen. Display ...

K2 VGA port
Kronos 2 has a boot issue
Replacing 4GB Ram = no joy
I DL the recover iso's from Korg.com
Disc one when connected to via CDROM / USB has no effect = no restore menu . Cannot format restore SSD
Connecting VGA monitor to VGA port = no signal
Motherboard / Power supply?
Further suggestion

How to read Kronos Primary SSD in windows
I do not run Linux on my PC. I wanted to check the primary 64GB SSD for health and integrity. I have Windows 10. Disk management indicates the K2 SSD & windows does not have it listed on my computer because it is not fat 32 or NTSF. Question: How does one read the contents of the K2 SSD outside of ...

Re: Preventative Maintainance Kronos 2
Thank you for your advice! It would seem best to do a fresh install on a new SSD being the primary drive with a smaller size of 128GB. The 500 GB can be secondary once the K2 gets restored. There is no test mode in the K2 to check health and integrity. If a fresh install fails, then time to consider ...

Re: Preventative Maintainance Kronos 2
In this case, this Kronos 2 will NOT = unfinished boot!
Cloning the drive to a similar size = unfinished boot
Since I have a new 500 GB SSD to replace the primary drive , should I partition this drive 1st BEFORE loading in the KRONOS 2 recovery data from disks 1 - 3 ?

Preventative Maintainance Kronos 2
Many Kronos 2's fail during boot. Since there are no original size SSD's ( 64 GB) in 2025, can one use a larger SSD and partition it so it is seen by the K2. For example I have a 500 GB SSD ( Samsung 860 EVO ). Can this SSD be used for Kronos 2 recovery. Any advice on checking the health of the : 1 ...

Re: First time Korg user consider a Triton Extreme 88
All I can say is that I own 2 Triton extreme 88's and one Extreme 61. I sold one of the 88 to make room for the KRONOS2 88. The Triton 88 Extreme uses a very dependable keybed. I believe it is a fatar 88 weighted model TP40, made for KORG. in the 20 years I have owned it there have been NO issues ...

M3 LCD Screen issues
A good friend of mine who lives remotely has a KORG m3 -88 since new. After 10 years there were LCD/ Touch screen assembly issues. He mentioned that new touch screen was installed to the original display. Currently the LCD illuminates with a blank blue light and no characters. His M3 plays PROG ...

When multiple notes are dead across all octaves of your keybed, suspect the contact PCB's ,their linked connections and the ribbon cable connecting the keyd assembly to the motherboard. I have had to replace numerous Contact PCB's ( Low, Medium and High boards on various YAMAHA and ROLAND products ...

importing MIDI Files
I haVE saved considerable work in KORG triton.SNG & Korg M3.SNG formats as well as a vast number of *.MID files. over the years. Rather than recreate I want to merge or import these files into KRONOS. WHen these TRITON or M3 SNG files are saved as MIDI, they can be imported and seen by KRONOS. Using ...
