tracking out

I have both the emx and esx, they are great instruments for laying down a complete track, espeicially suited to minimal house. I'm happy using hardware. I'm just wondering how you guys track out to record, ie I suppose you can have 4 individual parts to post process via the outs if you hard pan left ...

Save a file in the wave organiser that contains no samples. Then save this and load it to the esx-1,, too easy.

kaoss effects comparison

How do the effects rate compared to the SX or MX electribes, are they of similar quality, ie grain shifter, talk mod verbs etc

I remember not too long ago going into Mannys in melbourne , I think they had a RRP on an EA-1 of at least $1000!!! If you have to buy new I think Awave does a pretty good price on things. It is a risk buying OS on an expensive item, if by some chance it's faulty then you're up s*** creek.

bass compression

Howdy, just thought I'd share this set-up I was tinkering with, mainly doing deep house stuff, but like to sample my own bass riffs. Ok, sample bass guitar through pre-amp to ES1 , use compressor , then sample to ESX-1 and compress further , about 25% each time with quite fast attack setting. It ...

G'day there mate,
I was in the same boat a while ago. The best bet is to get a step-down transformer, (50 w), I got one for around $30, it works fine no problems and it the size of a normal PSU..

Yep, organising a live set, I work with the mpc 1000 and mx. Spent a good week and a bit trying out all the configurations. Anyway I found it was best to set the mpc as the main sequencer and slave the mx. I have four drum parts set up, kick--snare---hats ---percussion these are set to pads 13-16 on ...

Just to say I am loving the upgrade to the emx, using the modulation can really add depth to my basslines. Anyway, one way is to go to a blank pattern like D35 press write, and shift scroll to A01 and press write again and so on....

Yes the chip-fuse location is posted on a french web-site "fanzine" or the like, nice pics on the exact location. I think it is hard wired in so you will need some soldering work, recommended is a 1.5 A fuse. Also just got my emx 2nd hand, anyway first session with it was going well, then suddenly ...

Erasing all patterns on emx-1

Howdy,
Just got the mx after being a long time first gen electribe user. Is there a quick way to wipe all the pattern memory, ie like the old es1 where you could load a blank file. Anyway so far so good, got it from ebay looks like it's in minty condition. Cheers
