System firmware update problems

I’ve got a Kronos X running system 3.03 (yeah, I know… it’s been awhile since I bothered to update). I want to run the latest system but from what I can gather I need to update the firmware first. The problem is that the latest Sub System Firmware for the Kronos X is 6.06 and when I try to load it fr ...

I noticed the same thing and with combi's too... doesn't make much sense to me as I thought I was running everything pretty hot, seems they're virtually useless in detecting clipping unless I've been doing something wrong this whole time. When I set up a combi I normally have at least one program ...

One question: when change registrations on the JP80, the sound changes smoothly like the Kronos, or cuts-off? or on other words when you have a sustained chord and change registration, the sound retains or cuts? Thanks Roland JP80 attempts to retain the same sound as long as you hold the chord, but ...

You have to use one of the "tracks" in combi mode to send midi info out. I don't have my keys in front of me right now but I asked the same question to send program (registration) change to a Jupiter 80 a few months ago. Look up that thread and it'll point you in the right direction: http://www ...

I haven't tried the Mackie DLM series but I'm very familiar with SRM450's. I've got 2 that are blown taking up space in my garage and one still in use. They were great when they first came out but there are several superior alternatives IMHO. When I started looking for better alternatives I first ...

Check out http://forums.rolandclan.com/viewforum.php?f=53 http://axial.roland.com/category/jupiter-50/ I don't have a JP-50 so I'm not the one to ask. But I do own a JP-80 and I'd be shocked if the 50 had all of the live sets that the 80 has (the 80 can't even come close to loading all of the live ...

That's what I paid for mine last November... $2100 - And to top it off I got the $250 Korg rebate that they were offering for a few months - so at the end of the day my cost was $1850. And it was definitely brand new A stock. I wouldn't be worried about it, be happy you didn't have to pay what some ...

Sorry for the error. Good to hear you got it working. I remember really struggling with MIDI stuff in the mid-to-late 80s. I had no one to ask for help; I didn't understand MIDI terms or what it was really. All I had was various manuals and guides, and a not-hugely-helpful book on MIDI borrowed ...

In the Jupiter's System Setup > MIDI Tx/Rx screen, check that the Receive Program Change and Receive Bank Change settings set to ON . The Jupiter's manual says these are turned on by default, but you know, one has to ask. The Jupiter's MIDI Implementation guide has the info. http://i.imgur.com ...

Kronos / Jupiter 80 midi registration change?

Hi all, I just got a Jupiter-80 as a second keyboard for live (replacing a TR61 LE that I was using as a midi controler for Kronos sounds). My first impressions after 3 days of having the Jupiter is that for me, its the perfect companion to the Kronos tonally. VERY different strengths! So far I've ...

It's what I use as a keyboard sub mixer live. Works great, but you wouldn't have enough channels if you wanted to run everything stereo. I run mono live because my PA is mono anyway.
