Ooooo. I didn't even think about that. I assume that you can do the same thing using the pads themselves instead of an external keyboard? My electribe came in the mail today... now I just need to get home so I can play with it.

Yeah, it wouldn't as much. The sampling time on the KP isn't long enough to record all the various things going on.

Using 2 inputs on the KP3+

Has anyone figure out a way to use both the mic input and the line in input at the same time on a KP3+?

sort of. I had an ES-1 MKII that I never used and sold. I also have an EA-1 but have never really used it for anything at all.

This new generation of electribe's appeal to me because of the drum pads and layout. It seems more conducive to live playing.

Awesome. This sounds like it will be exactly what I'm looking for. I just ordered the unit along with a Roland SP-404SX to handle all my samples and s**t.

So for #1, does that basically mean it would load up all the sounds I might want to use with a particular track, plus anything I already sequenced. Then I can either play the sequences or just play the sounds themselves live? There won't be many complicated things going on since it's just ...

Can I do this with the Electribe?

My biggest use for the electribe would be to play it live at our shows accompanying our sets. It will only work if I can do a few things. 1. Can I set up, I don't know what to call them, song presets (I guess) where it would load up all the sounds I wanted for a particular song, as well as the ...

I have a KP2, KP3, and KP3+. In all reality, all the FX sound pretty much the same, it's just that the KP3 and KP3+ have more fx, sampling abilities, and look a lot nicer. All mine are daisy-chained together, and I use the KP2 for just delays at this point.

The product page says so.

Thanks for the suggestions on units. I'll look into them. Hopefully, they're just as compact.

Gotcha. Thanks. All 3 of those would be to big for what I'm looking for. It seems that Korg has made a unit that almost cockteases me. It's almost exactly what I want. Maybe I'll get it anyway and find ways to make it useful.... then I'll hope that a newer version in a few years is even more ...

Does any other unit offer the synth and sampling capabilities, or is this electribe the first to do it?

For the kind of tunes we do, "dry" samples don't always exist. Especially not loops. Speaking of loops, I wonder what kind of looping this unit will allow, or if we'll need to retrigger things on each go around.

I guess we'll see in a month!

I've thought about the sample times and such for the drum hits. However, a lot of the fx and loop samples I'd use would be stereo, cutting us down to 2ish minutes of time. My personal use for this kind of desires the synth engine of the synth version along with the sampling capabilities of the 404sx ...

Yeah, I mean, my live setup already includes 3 daisy chained kaoss pads into 2 guitar pedals, so the audio in for FX isn't the biggest deal. Have you tried the sequencing out into devices other than the volca stuff? I'd be interested in using it to control other synths (my EA1 comes to mind). Have ...
