Well, first of all, I am excited about PCG Tools - as soon as I get back to my Oasys I will try that out. I understand that there are enough differences to make Kronos -> Oasys conversion difficult, if not impossible. But remember when Korg released virtual analog software for PolySix? I was able to ...

Re: Where I'm at (and where are you at?) with OASYS these da

I also know that I only understand about 10% ... I have just mapped out the Operational and Parameter Guide ... Karma, Wave Sequencing, Vector Synthesis, AMS, Dynamic MIDI, Dynamic Modulation, MOS20EX, STR-1 and MOD-7. The only sad part of all of this - just how quiet this forum is these days ...

Great points there. Makes me laugh at the new Korg Vintage Stage Piano. We sure don't need one of those...

This is a document that I use every day - so I uploaded the PDF to Mimeo.com - cost about $50 for a very high quality job. They usually offer discounts to first time users, so you might even get it done for much less. Of course that is B/W, color costs a lot more, but isn't really necessary. You can ...

Yeah, the manuals are really great. I used Mimeo.com to print hard copies of the latest versions, and it's a lot of fun to browse through the parameter guide - I learn something new every day.

Even more off topic - Moog's recent release of a Voyager without memories or MIDI... Well, I still have an Arp Axxe without presets or MIDI... years ago that's just the way it was, but I really think the Oasys would almost be useless without those abilities! Even the current max of thousands of ...

This sounds like a great idea. I spent some time converting patches for the Korg Virtual Analog PolySix and MS-20 to the Oasys. It took a long time but was really worth it.

Re: remove program changes from .mid file

BTW, searching the forums leads me to believe that few people use mid files with the O. If there's a song I want to play piano on, and the drums and bass are layed out already in a mid file, what are the alternative approaches to play it? I use MIDI files a lot with my Oasys. This is one area in ...

Re: Great idea!

Ok, I just uploaded my entry to the downloads section... My sound is User bank B - 0013, and there is a .MP3 demo. Well, seems like my file never made it to the upload section, but I found a place to store it online: http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=f96dfed35ec2db0907258ee67c679e4ae04e75f6e8ebb871

I love my OASYS, but others have pointed out, it's huge, and I'm intrigued by the likes of Logic Pro and REASON, etc. :-) Hmmm, I don't know, something just doesn't seem right to me with having a computer on stage generating music. Of course, the Oasys is a computer too... but at least it looks ...

I don't agree that the hardware is outdated, other than the possible future problem of not finding spare parts. (But that goes for every piece of hardware.) I mean, how exactly would the Oasys sound "better" with, for example, a faster processor?... You're right - the current hardware is just fine ...

The next Korg products won't be workstations IMO, they are more likely to relate to the three markets where is there money : 1) Guitars related products - effects, tuners, guitar guitarist oriented recorders 2) Hiphop gear - MPC meets Electribe meets workstation ... 3) Software Instruments and ...
