If anybody is looking for a new MicroSampler... I bought one this week new at House Of Sound in Switzerland (Basel). I've made my decision... Electribe 2 out, Pyramid in. Maybe I'm going to buy the Electribe 2 Sampler in the future but I want so see more progress of the new Electribe range.

Ok, it's not cheap but it has the functions that a lot of people want on the Electribe 2 (song mode, nice menu display, midi cc,...). But it isn't a synth or a sampler, just a sequencer (and it isn't battery powered). I really hope the Electribe 2 update where we all are waiting for will make the ...

I don't want to advertise for an other product but this is interesting for people who are not happy with the sequence functions of the Electribe: http://www.squarp.net/index.html.

I also want that the Electribe 2 stays a standalone but I mean that it would be great if you can use the Ableton possibilities on the Electribe.

Korg reached out his hand to Ableton with the Electribe. I wouldn't be surprised if the Electribe would become a "Ableton in a box". I really hope so, it would be great and most of the frustrations (song mode, midi, etc) would be solved.

Thanks for your replies. Not an easy "workflow"... (especially when I'm going to buy other synths in the future). Maybe it's better to buy the Electribe 2 Sampler and just sample the Streichfett/other synths. Problem solved

By the way, to make sure that I do nothing wrong, how should the midi setup be to make everything work perfectly?

PC/Mac/laptop/ipad's are banned I will buy the Kenton Midi Merge and I hope it will fix the "problem". Thanks for the advice.

Okay, I tried this...

Midi keyboard to midi in Electribe 2
Midi out Electribe 2 to Kenton Thru-5 midi in
Kenton Thru-5 midi thru to midi in Waldorf Streichfett

Still no result (midi channel keyboard/Streichfett is the same).

They really made some big mistakes with the new Electribe's. Don't get me wrong, I really love the Elec"tribe" (still have the ER and EA) but why get rid of all the good functions of the EMX/ESX? Ok, the new Electribe's can control more (midi)parts and are polyphonic but they aren't "music stations ...

Damn, if that should be the problem it would be a big downside for the new Electribe's. I hope they fix this with a new software update, I don't want to record the notes (especially for chords) on the Electribe pads.

Other "issue" that I have... I hooked up my midi keyboard to the Electribe's midi in and have put the midi channel on 4. My Waldorf Streichfett is connected to the midi out of the Electribe 2 (also on midi channel 4). I select part 4 on the Electribe and when I play the midi keyboard the Electribe 2 ...

Ah ok, but you can use it as a 16 part sequencer if you but the global midi parameter to 16. Strange way of working.

Hello, I purchased the Korg Electribe 2 today for using it as a main sequencer to sequence my other synths. To my surprise you can't set the midi channel for each part (like the EMX)? Only a global midi setting, really? Is there no midi setting for each part or is there something that I have missed ...
