Re: Coulour blind problem

I've just bought a Kaoss pad 3 and after working out how to sample, I've just realised that this is gonna be a bit of a problem for me as when the sample bank buttons are playing or stopped, the colours look identical to me. I've always found it difficuilt with browns, greens, orange, reds and get ...

Dump the oasys - use the virus and get a kurzweil to go with it - both sound *way* better anyway.

Actually, I hate knobs that are so tioghtly packed together that you accidently force another knob to jump because you accidently touch it while tweeking another one.

it would be nice to hear examples of attempts to produce the same patch on both synths. :) allthough your comparison did temporarily make me think about buying a virus to complememt the radias. very interesting. Thats an easy effect to simulate - take a sample of a virus sounds - run it though a ...

On the lack of direct knobs on the virus - even the Virus B has way way more parametsr than a radias. If Access had given every parameter its own knob or switch, then it would probbaly have needed a 8U rack module absolutely covered in knobs... - and thats ignoreing the controls for virus fx params ...

Personally I quite like the fabfilter Pro-C - loads of options, various compression response types, can work as a mid+side and as well L+R, there a side chain option as well, and really excellent visuals that make it very easy to setup - you get a time graph of its response vs the signal, so you can ...

Yes - completely different - anout the only thing they have in common I think is the hardware UI concept and being VA.

Re: Radias + Virus

I have few questions - is it hard to compensate lack of real time controls? How? I guess PC editor will do it all... but what about live gig situation? Why is it a good combination - Radias/Virus. For live use your going to be restricted to whatever 3 soft knobs have been setup for the patch (and ...

LOL - since posting this - got myself an SE ATC-X analog synth - wow - what a difference. I had allmost forgotten what it was like to have some fat bastard analog for bass abuse. Also spent some time rediscovering my v-synth and TI for electro house bassline abuse. Sorry to say - they all leave the ...

The KP3 is just one little fx box and a useful little controller in amongst a whole heap of stuff.

About the only time I use it looping is for trying stuff out when mixing my own music - ie grab a loop and mess with it. I tend to use the loopers more though.

Now, with proper programming skills, could I make Virus pads that I liked? I dunno. Like I said. I haven't programmed beans yet! Starting point is knowing what you want :) But yes - programming is the key. I dont use the TI presets much for pads. I actually think that programming good pads as ...

Go with which ever sound you prefer. With the Virus Control plugin, the virus is very easy to program. IMHO the Radias is easier to pregram from the front panel than the Virus for basic stuff, but overall I find I can get to a sound I want easier on the Virus hardware, just because it a much more ...
