Are there any Windows tools/librarians that can read a MIDI file and convert it to an arpeggio pattern for the X50?

The X50 editor is only "intuitive" if you have a very clear understanding of how the sound engine is laid out. There's a LOT to learn.

Yes, you can create your own user ARP patterns, but you have to edit them by hand (i.e. you can't "record" them in real time).

Here is a list of all Korg X50 Programs, and which Combis use them, in the factory default setup.
