if u use only the L output, with 1 cable, then any sound u play will be MONO.
As if for a MONO sum of both channels of course, not just the left side.

Even if u got it as a used instrument and can't prove your purchase, and u do have a problem with the keyboard, I think u should still get the service with the slight difference of not having a warranty documentation which means you'll probably have to pay for the promised fix. Well I don't have my Kronos yet so I can't give u an exact solution, but I did add controllers to cubase before and it's not automatic like in other daws. U have to go to devices, add new device and u have on the upper left side of that screen a "+" button. Try this way. Or check in cubase manual ...
