Definitely sounds like a hardware problem if it is intermittent, but continues even if you switch off and on,

I think you'll just have to take it to a repair technician and see what the say.

The pedal supplied with the SV-1 is the DS-2H. I suspect that there may be something odd with the velocity being sent from your MIDI controller. I think that the RX noise is constant, but the actual note gets louder or softer with the received velocity. So if your MIDI controller is sending very low velocity values, then that would perhaps ...

There have been other similar problems reported - see links below. I think you'll need to take it back for repair/replacement.

There is a service manual available within files area of the SV-1 group on facebook. I think you'll need to join the group to get access. That will give instructions on how to remove the keybed.

Can you run the Editor without the supplied Korg SV-1 driver?
I was under the impression that the Editor requires the Driver to be installed.

Check that you haven't just pressed the "Local Off" button. I often hit those buttons under the main sound selector knobs when playing with some enthusiasm. In theory, the buttons require to be held down for a few moments to activate, but sometimes they seem to work just from an accidental nudge.

There are some additional piano sounds in the soundpacks that improve on the stock sounds supplied with the SV-1 http://www.korg.com/us/support/download/product/0/240/#software .
