New? Better? Really? Unless you have mastered everything on all 1189 pages of the Parameter Guide, you have an instrument that will keep you busy for years. Look at what the competition isn't doing: there is not a single workstation from Yamaha, Roland, or Kurzweil that can touch Kronos. Now IF I ...

Re: Tomorrow Never Knows

. We want to cover Tomorrow Never Knows and I am mystified as to how to recreate the "seagull" sound in the song's opening. Sir George Martin had recorded McCartney's voice, sped up the recording then reversed the tape. !! I'm pretty sure that was just random tape loops, not Paul's voice, but it ...

Re: Tomorrow Never Knows

Hey all, I need some help please. I am in a British invasion act and 40 percent of the music we cover is from The Beatles. We want to cover Tomorrow Never Knows and I am mystified as to how to recreate the "seagull" sound in the song's opening. Sir George Martin had recorded McCartney's voice, sped ...

If one day I would make a cover of "Tomorrow never knows" I would make it a little bit different and, in a kind of hommage, I would use many reversed sample of some Beatles songs. :D That is a nice idea. Giles Martin already did something like that. He fused Within You and Without with Tomorrow ...

Samples of bird calls? I bet you could find one that sounds close to that. :) Hi Stephen, I tried that but still haven't found a sample that's really workable. Most of the seagull samples also have waves and wind. But I'll keep trying. I can't accept that our modern and very powerful instruments ...

The Kronos with it's different engines is vastly superior over the Montage concerning several basic sound areas (like VA synth sounds, B3 sounds etc.) and functionality (like plenty of additional sample space for libraries and user sample streaming). Whenever Kronos factory sounds don't deliver ...

I prefer sitting and the reason is I am also the frontman in a band so sitting gives me a little break from the energetic jumping around I do as a frontman.

Someone mentioned that it looks silly in a rock band to sit. Do you think that Paul McCartney or Elton John look silly?

john bowen solaris When I had a pile of disposable cash 7 months ago I had seriously considered one of these. It seems like a VERY capable instrument but, for the price, I would have expected true analog, not a 12 voice digital emulation. For a few bucks more, I could have gotten a Matrix 12 or a ...

Nice question and for me it's an easy answer. There are three synths in my rig that compliment Kronos perfectly: Jupiter 80: Sounds are as beautiful as Kronos but in a different sort of way. (Disclaimer: I make no prententions about being a techie sort of guy who can explain what the hell I'm ...

I had a chance to mess around with a Yamaha MOX-F and to be absolutely honest, I would purchase the MOX-F over this new Roland any day of the week. They are direct competitors in this market and the price point, and really, the MOX-F is very close to an XF whereas I still argue that the FA-08 isn't ...
