OK sorry for the misunderstanding about using the KAOSS pads. The following link should help you on the midi definitions. Remember that all synth controls are on midi channel 1. I have used my Korg nanoKontrol to send midi messages to iMS-20 and it worked fine. I use the MS-20 controller now that I ...

Re: NanoPad 1 & Korg iMS-20
I know this has been brought up here before, but I just did my best Google-Fu and couldn't find any answers. I picked up a NanoPad 1 for cheap and know next to nothing about Midi. Is it completely useless for iMS-20? I've messed around with the midi assignments enough to figure out how to control ...

You both should look more carefully at the plug for the normal apple earbuds. Notice that it has two rings, not one like a standard It isn't a normal stereo 1/8" jack. It has two stereo outputs plus a mic input, thus it has a tip and two rings, instead of a tip and a single ring. You can't use most ...

I connect the headphone output with an adapter that splits the 1/8 stereo plug into two channels and then I use balanced cables to connect up to a patch panel in my studio. From there the inputs go to a MOTU 828 MK II and the output of that goes to a Hafler amp with NS-10 speakers. I have no issues ...

I am less interested in more apps than having Korg enhance the apps they have. In particular, for iMS-20 I would love: polyphony of some sort. I know the original didn't have it but so what, the original didn't have KAOSS Pads either :-) Support for pitch bend. Yes, I can patch the mod wheel but I ...

Instead of using the IO Dock and spending the $200 I decided to just use RTPmidi on my PC with my Sonar Producer software and connect up the iMS-20 app on my iPad that way so it runs midi over WiFi. That way, I still get midi, don't have to worry about a USB hub, and can keep the iPad 2 plugged in ...

Re: Just downloaded the iMS-20 and...
I am using an ipad2 with iOS 4.3.5, iMS20 version is 1.5.1 according to iTunes. Whenever I try to browse the presets, I get the dreaded "Unresolved Error 259 Quit the Application" message, although it doesn't crash, I can return to the main screen. I am running the latest iMS20 on an iPad 2 with ...

The USB is not a host port so ...no USB keyboards . IMHO this was a huge oversight ...the should have added a small USB hub on to it . I would presume if I hook it up to an external USB port I should be ok then. I have a Waldorf Blofeld that has a B connector to it and I can play it using a USB hub ...

Alesis IO Dock opinions?
I am seriously thinking of buying one of these but I have the following concerns: 1) Can I use a midi controller with this given that the unit has a USB B connector? I assume it should be ok if I hook it to a hub but maybe I am missing something. If I can't use my iPad 2 synths with it what is the ...

I have both apps and far prefer iMS-20. The learning curve is big especially if you have not used synths extensively before. The single greatest thing to me about iMS-20 is the KAOSS pads. As soon as you know how to set them up right a whole world opens up for you. Here is a little bit of what to do ...

Bug transferring patterns/songs in iMS-20 to another iPad
I have two iPad 2's that I use for various things. I saved a song I was working on with one iPad to soundcloud and then tried to download it on my other iPad. The download worked fine and it looked like there was some attachment. Sadly, as soon as I click on the downloaded song to load, the IMS-20 ...
