Loading EX19

Hi, I’m also having trouble getting EX19 properly onto the Kronos. When I unzip the Ex19.tar.gz file there is an HD folder that contains a KAPro folder that, in turn, contains the EXs19 KAPR’s Private collection folder. This folder contains the EXs19.PCG file and .KSC file. The PCG file is 706 KB, an ...

I’m sorry to hear that, nowtime. Sounds like you tried Francois’ fix, gasket and all, and it did not work. The unfortunate truth is that under Seiki Kato’s leadership, Korg employees feel they must refrain from helping those who would rather not live with the fan noise. Additionally, authorized Korg ...

Korg/Apogee and fan noise

Rich, Jack, nice to see you at NAMM. The below is another person's post from a forum discussing fan noise in Apogee's Symphony. Note how transparently Apogee handles the issue. "FAN NOISE: As has been discussed elsewhere in the forum, when you add the mic pre card to a single card symphony unit, the ...

Bob, Thank you. I'm very familiar with that thread. My plan was to do exactly as Francois had done. My question was asked to get a general confirmation from someone at Korg (not support from Korg, nor any indication from Korg that they recommend swapping the fan) that the data contained in the fan ...

Greg,

With due respect, my choice isn't clear. An answer to my question would make how to proceed clear. I don't really care that much about the warranty. I would however like to have a sense of whether replacing the fan is likely to more quickly fry the machine. Does that make sense?

Thanks everyone for your comments. Still no answer from Korg. My question for Korg: Do you know if the stock Kronos fan cools better than the quieter Noiseblocker fan? Dan suggested that answering this question is tantamount to offering me support for a 3rd party fan. I’m not asking for support. Nor ...

Dan, Choosing not to answer a question is not an answer. Please don’t Catch-22 me. I value your work. In your role at Korg, I accept that you are personally constrained from saying anything other than the things you’ve said. It is my hope that someone—perhaps from the Korg hardware design/manuf ...

Dan, I did not get an answer. They said that they've only had two or three complaints about the fan and that there was no inherent problem with the fan. One could infer that they were not recommending fan replacement. By the way, I did ask if it was possible for me to contact someone on the hardware ...

Thanks Dan, hope all is well with you too, and thanks for your reply. Time and again I appreciate the extra effort you make on behalf of Korg. I have already spoken directly with Korg USA, and as undoubtedly you’ve guessed, I have had no success in getting an answer. That is why I have posted the q ...

Question for Korg re the fan (so I can buy the Kronos X)

I think the Kronos is the best sounding keyboard on the market. Yet the fan is audible in a quiet environment. This has prevented me from buying the Kronos. On the KRONOS Fan Fix topic, many people have found relief from fan noise by using the Noiseblocker fan (Francois added a gasket to further ...

Francois,

Good work! Adding the gasket and the anti-vibration pins seems to have gotten you the best results so far.

Is the fan inaudible to you from a regular playing position?

What brand of pins/gasket did you use? Do you have an image of the gasket before being placed?

Thanks.

David
