Re: KRONOS Relaunched!

Why does it have the same polyphony? Aren't the processors faster now? The good news is when ours breaks, we can buy another.

Re: Need help getting the best acoustic piano sound from Kronos2

The Kronos pianos sound fine in stereo and with in-ears. In fact, they might even sound incredibly nice for samples. But live, mono, through monitors, they lack presence and just don't sound that good. Keyscape sounds way better live, but you know what is perfectly serviceable, is Ivory with iPad. I ...

I used to use a Kurzweil and I liked it. Unfortunately it was very unreliable and after a while I couldn't justify using it. As for Roland - I just don't get along with their overall sounds. I have an RD-88 and the sounds are better - but I guess I am so used to Yamaha and Korg sounds - which I like ...

The Astrolab may point to the future, but it's a toy compared to the Kronos. Only 2 parts, 10 presets, limited effects, 61 keys only etc.. One feature I use all the time is is muting and unmuting of up to 9 parts (layered or split), persevering polyphony when not using parts, FAST changes due to the ...

Does the Nautilus have the polyphony preserving mode of combinations? Live mode?

OK at least it does have it. Page 767 parameter guide.

Nothing beats the Kronos. This is probably the best keyboard I have ever owned for this type of situation. Unmatched. But you guys know that.

Korg Kronos - what next?

I dread the day my Kronos dies. As far as I can tell, there is no replacement as capable as this machine. I have unrealBook dialing up sounds via wireless MIDI and it's FAST. A band I play in, has tons of layering/splits, very fast song transitions and the Kronos handles it like a beast. I use all ...

I did a gig last weekend using all freeware VST's WOW! I'm slowly phasing in the plugins, but it's been pretty expensive for me. I'm running Keyscape and Omnisphere along with a bunch of other plugins. I'm using an m1 Mac mini and will probably pick up the Roland RD-88 to control this system. I've ...

I think that if I purchased an m1 Mac mini with 64 gigs (doesn't exist), it is possible that it might replace my Kronos, but maybe not. I have my M1 Mac mini with 16G and I use it on concerts but I only have around 6 programs I use for those concerts. For all the crazy pop gigs I have, I switch ...

So check this out. I decided to look into it again and lo and behold, NO LOW BATTERY MESSAGE! I check the date and I somehow typed in 2022 for the year. So I change it using the keypad to 2022 and press OK. I check it again - it's back to 2022! I try again, and it still has 2022. Confused I use the ...

Thank you. Yes I did that. I set the year etc... and press OK and it takes a second or two. Then I turn off and start up the Kronos and still get the low battery indicator. I got the meter in, the batteries are over 3v. Not sure why my Kronos is not recognizing the battery. The polarity is correct ...

Thanks guys. My meter comes in tomorrow. I find it extremely odd that all the batteries tested around 1.6V however I believe that would be enough to power the CMOS. Will see shortly.

If you can get some kind of MIDI monitor app for the iPad, run it and see exactly what the Kronos is sending to the iPad. That will tell you a lot.

3V battery CR2032 problem Kronos 61

So I finally got the battery low message. I carefully documented the polarity of battery in socket. I replaced the battery and nothing.... the Kronos keeps complaining about a low battery. I had 4 CR2032 from CVS - I tested them and they all read 1.6V which I find weird. My multimeter might be going ...

Been YEARS - Kronos

So it's been over 11 years for the Kronos and I had my doubts about the longevity of this keyboard (since it's like a PC inside). All I have to say is that it has been extremely reliable and can do things no other keyboard can do (that I know of). It switches patches extremely quickly and I have my ...

I would say it cannot convincingly do a real minimoog.
That being said, if anyone can do it, it's Busch.
