Not to be flippant, but take it back? It might be fine, but my first take would be to wonder what else is wrong with it. Otherwise, you should be able to download the OS from the Korg site and go from there, I would think. I've never had any trouble updating any software/firmware from Korg, but I ...

I probably am not qualified to answer this one anymore, since I had a Tempest when they were first released. I loved the sequencer and the fact that it was more of a synthesizer than a drum machine (can't really call it a groove box, though that is the inspiration for it). I sold mine due to the ...

£435? Wow - that seems high. However, at their current price of £335 (Thomann UK online) each, they do come close to the MPC. That seems a shame. I was never privy to Korg's pricing schemes outside of the US, so I have no idea why the discrepancy. I thought the new Electribe was fairly easy to use, ...

... it's a quality piece of kit costing less than both tribes ... Not quite. US price is $1199 - the Tribes cost $399 each. Elsewhere may be slightly different, but the European prices I've seen are compatible to these as well. No plans (that I have seen) for any sort of VST integration as of yet ...

Just syncing for now. I've looked at various docks over the years and am coming around to the idea that that may be the way to go. I may go get the UNO just to try it, though, providing I can return it if it doesn't work properly. We'll see ... it's really just a PITA to have to do that just to see ...

EMX + iPad w/M-Audio Midisport Uno?

Has anyone tried to hook their EMX up to an iPad using this setup?

If not, does anyone have any experience with any connection between the two (without another device, i.e. laptop) involved? I've done some searching, but haven't found an answer that satisfies yet.

Thanks in advance!

You know I bet that might happen. I would be interested in that, too. Your gear reviews always impress, inform, and answer my questions. I'll go watch your first Circuit review here shortly. I've played a little bit with one at Sweetwater, but at the time I wasn't overly impressed. That said, with ...

Met with my Roland rep today; he played dumb about the whole thing, but had a grin on his face. That says to me something is coming, but what it is I have no idea.

True. That said, I left a message with my old Roland rep to see if he'll give me any hints. I kind of doubt it, but he's come through before. Fingers are crossed.

I'd love to have another MC-909-style machine with their new modeling tech or even the GAIA's engine in it.

But it ain't gonna be cheap ...

Yep! I was just curious if perhaps you had given the TR-8 a shot. I keep meaning to, but, like I said, I keep putting it off. Every time I fire up the TR-8, I just play with it solo!
