You can't do that alone unfortunately.
For the pa5x there is no official way for now.
There is a guy in Germany that does it for the pa5x using the same serial number locking as the 4x but i m not sure he ll help.

Have you dived into the synth engine of the pa5x yet? If not i suggest you do it before deciding what to buy! A VA synth would make more sense given you already have the pa5x which has a very good pcm based synth engine. It depends on what music you are playing/making though too to decide if a VA ...

My guess is that it ll be for bluetooth communication at some point as bluetooth is mentioned in the test mode but there is no bluetooth module currently inside.

You have to either open it up if you know what you are doing or take it to a repair shop.
First move is to reseat all flex cable strips and if that doesn't fix it, replace the screen assembly would be the next logical step.

80% is the screen (actually the pcb behind the screen but they are sold as a module) ..
If you press any other button like global or media does it respond and change what is shows on the screen (not show correctly but different)?

This doesn't seem to have anything to do with the ribbon controller.The ribbon controller doesn't even connect to the same board as the screen...
