Have you thought about in-ear monitors? Small and quiet amps tend to be more accurate than loud things on the stage.

I've heard some say the organs on the 2nd SV sound pack are a slight improvement too, and they are editable via the software yes? They are editable within certain parameters. Basically, the sounds are all hard-wired into the SV1, so what you are editing is the effects layered on top of that: EQ ...

Re: Talk me into an SV-1... Can I trust it?

I've had no problems at all with the keybed since I first bought it. The USB port broke at one point, but I had it replaced and it works fine now. This is very different from my previous board, a Roland RD-200, where I was constantly having notes fail (sometimes--and most irritatingly--by only ...

I use my SV-1 for live gigs, but only if I know the sound system will be excellent. The EP sounds are great in mono, but I find that the acoustic pianos only sound good in stereo, so it's a compromise there. The SV1 works pretty well with my Bose L1 system, but that's at least three trips from the ...

The "panel lock" solution came in a system update -- it changes it so that instantaneous button presses (such as bumping a button while playing) don't register. You need to hold down the button for a bigger fraction of a second. So if you have installed the current updates from the Korg website ...

Your computer may have an 1/8" input for simple recording, though usually the AD converters aren't very good. But if cheap is more important than quality, you can get recordings with a simple stereo cable with one 1/4" end (for the SV1's headphone jack) and one 1/8" end (for your computer's audio ...

Re: Keeping sustain into new sound

Any way to enable new sound with release of pedal? No. You can put a stereo sample/hold/looper pedal on the SV-1 output, but the keyboard itself changes the moment a patch is selected. Iirc it was a design decision due to analog circuitry, but I could be wrong. What he said. One possible kludge ...

Yes, at the time the Sound Pack 2 was released, it was mentioned that the bass samples had been there all along, but until they got the split function, they weren't useful.

I love the piano sound. I just don't like how it interacts with the keyboard, somehow. I find it easy to play solo, difficult to play in a band. Anyway, I'm glad you and the folks at your church are happy. It's generally a great board. I tried the SP280, and didn't like it as well. And if the SP280 ...

I can testify -- yes, piano pedals can be that complicated. The first issue is that they can have reversed polarity. A more serious issue is that damper pedals can be not just "off" and "on" but have intermediate values (since real pianos behave differently based on the speed of pedaling and "half ...

I do wish they made some sort of bar that went across to sit the pedal over (as that notch would be very useful). I think they do that for their arranger keyboards. No, oddly that was just for the SP250, and I thought it was brilliant. The new SP280 successor drops that idea. I need to decide ...

No, the SV-1 is not multitimbral. So you can only play the preset you have loaded. Suggestion is to get Mainstage on a Mac and do splits from there (right hand going back out to SV-1 and left hand going to softsynth base). With audio output going through SV-1 (to make it simple on the main outs ...

Well, it seems very odd to me that the amp model would work fine through the headphone output jack but not through the rear-panel output jacks. I'd take it in to be looked at by a Korg authorized dealer. In the mean time, you could use the headphone jacks as your outputs by getting an appropriate ...

From what I know, the valve is only used in the amp modelling section. Maybe there's something wrong with your jacks? Maybe you should try putting it through an XLR-output, maybe that helps. You do say that it's the electric pianos having the problem, but some pianos are okay. The preset electric ...

Like the SP-250 it derives from, this will be a much simpler, much less tweakable keyboard than the SV1. But for some gigs -- where you just need piano and electric piano sounds, not the EXACT piano and electric piano sounds you might ideally want -- it's a lighter, portable, and cheaper package. I ...
