Thank you both. I actually bought a tascam dr-07 mkii to cover my immediate needs, and will probably look into the miniKP2 later... And I agree the ipod touch would have been an option... Hopefully, I don't have to decide right now, no money :D

Thanks again!

Cheers,

Re: Recording on the new mini KP2?

The Mini KP2 is not available in Japan yet either... Major bummer... :( Jingles. That's too bad!! I'll have to wait a little then... Guess I'll get the cheapest recorder I can in the mean time and get the mini KP2 in a few months... Maybe one of those recorders for journalists will do the trick for ...

Recording on the new mini KP2?

OK, here is my question. I am in need of something to record external audio via line in, and was wondering if the new mini KP2 record-to-SD functionality would be useful for this purpose... I am quite short on cash, I have the KP2 on my wishlist, and it would set me back quite a while to have to buy ...

Not sure if the "more" info you have will be more accurate in the end. Exactly! It happens all the time, as I said, with both prices and delivery dates. But, then again, I know the Kronos 88 will be around the 4400 dollar mark here, so at least I know that I'll need more than 4000 and less ...

Along with talk of KRONOS being canceled doe to threat of musician mutations. If it's an extra finger or two, count me in!! Oh, and sparkie, here is an idea that might be useful. 1) Stop worrying 2) Buy a geiger counter 3) Bring it along when you go out to buy your Kronos. :D I am dead ...

Just to reiterate some info posted before: here in Argentina the price for Kronos has been available from day one also (mid january). No firm info on when it's coming, but the local importer never announces such things, so it's what I would expect from them. Unofficially, last time I asked, it was ...

The Kronos is not a "soft-synth". Its dedicated hardware that happens to have software GUI, nothing more. The software does not "create" the sound, rather it more or less "mixes" it together. The on board DAC's of the Kronos are unparalleled compared to a PC based "soft synth". Your understanding ...

Yes! You'll actually find a couple of programs that use the vocoder by default, can't remember where, but they are the last or close to last programs that come by default with the M3, just after the brass bank I would guess, but you should check that out for yourself... Never used them, by the way ...

Hi Klaus! It seems like you are reading your manual correctly :D The only thing left in your question is that I seem to remember that the vocoder that will be available on the Kronos will be the same that is currently available on the M3... I might be completely mistaken, of course, and that is why ...

jmexio - you're mixing up sample rates and bit depth. They're different things. Sample rate - horizontal resolution (frequency). The higer sample rate, the more precise (less stepped) the digitized waveform will be. Bit depth - vertical resolution (amplitude). 16 bits are perfectly enough for ...

24-bit samples are IRRELEVANT from synthesis standpoint. You are not creating dynamics with keymaps (and dynamics is the only thing sample bit depth is important for!) Sorry, but if this was right keyboards would be using 8 bits of resolution, or 6, or 4... :? It is my (maybe crude) understanding ...
