They most certainly won't make an improved version, the architecture is too old for that. They may make a new flagship with backwards compatibility, but even that isn't a given. They could do a new flagship with a new architecture and keep the UX, but the Kronos UX is as dated as the architecture ...

I had those same doubts about a digital piano and the feedback I got was that nobody else had worried about that before. Apparently it's not one of those ' should have told you' things that everyone knows but nobody mentions.

Is the title of this now incredibly long thread appropriate? Does the OS update have anything to do with the problem?

That quote is actually them quoting the press release.
In fact there is nothing by them. They haven't seen it, nor do they provide any info not on Korg's announcement.

The PC4 has (what I can only assume is an appropriate for it) 4.32" screen. It's telling (or it should be) of the relative complexity, there is no way the Nautilus/Kronos engines could be practically edited with such a size. I'm not buying what you're selling. I guess it's really good then that I'm ...

No, that's exactly right: - From the moment that there is a Nautilus, it's a given that the K2 will go, if the K2 were to stay there would be no need for a Nautilus. - And from the moment that the Nautilus lacks must-have features (aftertouch being the cherry on top of the cake), it's a given that ...

Well, come on, no matter how critical one is of the Nautilus, Kurzweil isn't real competition, they could make a competing product but neither the PC4 nor any other of their offerings are. I'd love a modern-day K2600, but even then they'd be limited to what Fatar can provide. Could you explain this ...

Pals, don't keep missing the point. The Nautilus isn't a K3. Since the K2 is already so powerful, it would be very complicated to market a new K3. So they dumbed down the K2, so that it's easier to sell a future K3. The K3 will most likely have a new architecture and many of the improvements that ...

The lack of those keyboard features is what makes it clear that the Nautilus is not meant to replace the Kronos - it's more complicated for Korg to produce a keyboard without the features than just to include them by using the same design. This can only mean that the 'crippling' is intentional, and ...

I'm sure there are all kinds of reasons for anything once one is set on finding them. That's however a completely separate issue from what I was saying, which is that nobody would be complaining about the Nautilus if it were a rack version. Which in turn derives from the previous suggestion that one ...

Wrong. I am impressed, and I will pre-order the thing :D
Good. But in that case you should have said so in the thread where it was asked and had no takers.

It's just not defensible that the Nautilus isn't a poor man's Kronos. It's not a matter of opinion. Improved presets (IF they are so) and samples are not a 'change'. Loss of controls to what is essentially the same UI is not at all a matter of muscle memory. No aftertouch settles the fact that this ...
