You can fix this via JTAG using OpenOCD and a Raspberry Pi. A few details in this thread, use these OpenOCD config files.

J9, marked 'AM1802' (the top one in the photo) is for the CPU, this is the one you need. J10, marked 'BF523' is for the DSP.

If I start OpenOCD and press the power button at the same time the processor halts in the bootloader, in internal RAM at 0x80nnnnnn. In the end I found I couldn't get a clean write using RPi and FlashROM, probably due to cheap connectors. I managed to fix it via JTAG using OpenOCD instead, see http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/ ... p?t=124723.

If it's a software fault you can probably fix it via JTAG. I use OpenOCD and a Raspberry Pi. If the screen is lighting up, the secondary bootloader is probably fine but the application is corrupt. You should be able to halt the processor at 0xc0000000, load in the bytes from the firmware update file ...

The E2 can only send each part on its respective channel. I haven't used an FA06, but it sounds like it may be set to Omni mode, receiving on all channels.

You can rollback from 2.02 if you edit version number in the binary.

I use 87 bpm with groove templates to fill in the 16ths. I find slower tempo makes it easier to use step jump for beat chopping.

You can export/import patterns to and from the SD card either individually or as a single 250 pattern file.

Were you able to obtain/verify the correct code for the MX25L12835F? Korg do not stock this, only a replacement motherboard for about the cost of a complete second hand unit.
