Is there a way to trace where AMS is used?

I realize this is more useful for "how'd they *do* that?" or "How do I stop the current action on JS-Y because I want to use it for something else?" than for actual creation of patches from scratch. But is there a way to take a given modulation source and show where it's being used? In my mind, this ...

Both hands occupied must be a relative term if a slider is an acceptable solution. You can reach the sliders on the keyboard, but not on the mixer, right? :D I don't think you can get the sliders to affect audio in levels directly. But you may be able to send the external audio to an effect that can ...

Stand for two tiers?

I'm thinking about adding a 1st tier keyboard below my K2 61, probably one of those $500-700 25 lb 88 key electric pianos (was looking at Casio, then realized there's also a few worthy competitors I should consider). I currently have a stand with a second tier that I don't often use, but it has no ...

Well, after experimenting, I find that the Kronos does not respond to CC#4 to affect the hi-hat sounds. It does allow CC#4 as an AMS source, so a continuously variable HH sound is not completely out of the question, but it's not going to be had without some serious work. But I don't want to scare ...

Yes, it should work as long as you have a way to get MIDI out of your electronic drum kit. I've heard that many electronic drum kits are designed only with their own sound source in mind, though. You can record the MIDI out of it, and play it back in to the "brain", and get exactly what you expect ...

I think the answer is no. If I'm right on that, my approach to your problem would be to have all the sounds you need in one combi, using karma to switch which sound(s) are active for the second keyboard. See for example scoopicman's "KARMA Combi layer switching" video tutorial. There are limitations ...

Pads... Actually having some pads on the Kronos would be great, of course, but I don't think this thread is about new hardware additions. Irish Acts has a video on youtube, "KRONOS Pads + AKAI MPD32", without which I would not have considered the idea of putting the pads on non-velocity sensitive ...

I haven't used external synths or soft synths with my Kronos yet. But from previous experience, you can send program change (and bank change) messages from the keyboard you're using to change the sound preset on your sound source. I am quite sure I've done this with soft synths as the target as well ...

How about some kind of consolidated modulations view. It doesn't even have to be editable (although that would be a plus). One thing I find about the Kronos is that the AMS modulations are scattered all over the place, across many tabs. It would be nice to be able to see them all in one place so ...

I know a piano roll editor was already mentioned. But how about a grid-style pattern editor for creating drum patterns? I've got DM-1 on my iPad; I wonder how hard it would be to get it to export a midi sequence and import it in. That would be like what I'm asking for, except without the fiddly bits ...

Thanks for the feedback!

I'm not sure if I should read through the top 50 enhancements thread; I could find myself pining for features I otherwise wouldn't have known weren't there. :-) But I probably will!

RPPR question

I've been watching Synthmania Youtube vids recently, where he puts together vintage drum machines and synths and makes a demo or a song. Then I try to figure out how I do something similar on my Kronos. I discovered using the pattern loop recording to make drum patterns. And I also figured out how ...

Apart from all else mentioned, if at some time your computer dies and you need to buy a new one, you may not have the option of running an older OS any longer.

with my Nowhere Going Fast I think the Kronos drums are convincing - they don't have that obvious electronic drum vibe https://soundcloud.com/user-898236994/nowhere-going-fast So, out of curiosity, what sort of process did you use to create those drum tracks? Are they factory rhythm patterns ...
