I agree it's hugely annoying. If you spin it fast it moves up one at a time. You are correct that this reflects the granularity of the dial settings that are visible in the editor. However most players are not going to be using the editor and even if they do, they aren't using it during performance ...

I should qualify this - rather than dialing through 12 electric pianos, you should focus on one or two of them and practice working all the modifications the SV-1 makes available to you. You will get a lot more out of the board if you learn the nuances of the amps, reverb, the effects and how they ...

IMHO, the principal strength of the SV-1 is as a Rhodes emulator. Just like the Nord Electro's flagship sound is its Hammond B3. As others have posted, the acoustic pianos on the SV-1 are just ok. The organs are workable in a band environment but without drawbars you are seriously limited - and the ...

Yeah, there is the problem of too many choices. You can drive yourself crazy trying to whittle down 132 options down to 44. My suggestion is - don't bother. Here's how: 1) Accept the fact that 90% of your playing time is going to be with maybe 6 different sounds. A piano, a Rhodes, an Organ, maybe a ...

Thanks, I'll check those out! BTW - anyone finding a large enough difference with the SP2 grand pianos to keep both tunings loaded for a model? They say in the notes that the equal temperament tuning pianos are when playing with bands, and the stretch tuning pianos sounds are for playing solo...I'm ...

Thanks! I was also wondering if anyone swapped out one of the Grand Pianos for a later, more "resonant" model. The forums have some chatter about the factory grands not having enough release time. I've been comparing the two Grands with my two grands I use on the Nord, and there does some to be a ...

Newbie question about Sound Packs
Hi, I just got a Korg SV-1 two days ago, and I love it! I also have owned a Nord Electro 4 for about two years and wanted to give something with a better keyboard a try. I've just discovered that there are two "Sound Packs" out there. My quick question: are there any sounds on either of these that ...
