As soon as you plug in a 1/4 inch stereo jack, the power to the internal speakers is cut. There is a place with the global key to change the head phones to line out but I think the power is still cut.

The new OS for Havian 30 has been on the web site since the first week of Feb. 2016. Just follow the instructions. I had no problem at all and I'm old.
