Re: Korg Multi / Poly vs KingKORG

Anyone have both yet?

I still have my original KK, plus a Kronos and a Hydrasynth. I feel like I am more than covered on the synth side, but this seems to genuinely getting good reviews.

I would assume it works exactly the same, you can save to any location. It looks like the NEO has some new/revamped presets.

So you didn’t keep it?

I would probably get the big brother X if I was going for that synth. Unfortunately, i don’t play enough to justify another purchase like that.

Plus, I’m really thinking of getting a waldorf blofeld. Seems like it would be a good companion to the KK.

How are you liking it so far. Watched some demos. Sounds great 👍. Seems a little deeper and more capable than a KIngKorg

I don’t think there’s much menu diving at all. Bring up any starting patch, hit SPLIT button and you’re there. Turn main edit knob one spot to left for layer. Somehow it’s gotten a bad rap for menu diving, but I think this was designed as a gigging synth, everything is reached quickly once you unders ...

Firmware version check?

Anyone know if you can check the firmware version without connecting to a computer and the korg update application?

Hi yul. I don’t gig, so I just manage levels as needed with the master volume if I’m using the tube drive.

New tip, I missed this but my 2 year old showed me 🤔. You can use category buttons as short cuts when in edit mode, will take you to najor sections very quickly. Nice way to get to mod matrix. 👍

It’s been a little while since I’ve had a chance to use my kingkorg, but I’m pretty sure you ate incorrect on both of those restrictions. Maybe you have an older revision of the firmware

I assume you mean a constant hiss, even when not playing notes? I typically don't hear any noise , you might want to see if korg has support on their website and ask there
