I have had the Havian for over a year and I like it very much. My daughter just plays the piano side of the keyboard and successfully plays all of Fur Elise without difficulty. While I think the keyboard on the Yamaha CVP 705 has a better action - it feels lighter, the Havian action is fine, it is ...

Havian operating system update to V.2

Korg have just released an update to the operating system for the Havian 30 to version 2. Doesn't really add much. This is what it has added: New functions Sound Edit, Media: User Sounds based on User Samples can be loaded from other Pa-Series instruments (up to 32 MB; compressed Samples are loaded ...

Yes, build quality seems good as it is made of metal, not plastic like some other brands. Some people have complained that the volume controls and joystick seem flimsy but they are okay to me. So far the keys have been very quiet but we will see how they go with the way my daughter plays!

Surprised you would say that about the piano sounds. I have compared them to my daughter's acoustic Kawai and to me they sound pretty close. But piano sounds can be a subjective thing as from piano to piano they can sound different.

Re: Song list for Havian 30?

I cannot find a listing for the songs in the Havian 30. Is there such a list in a pdf file? Thanks! I checked through the 800 page manual and there isn't a list but on page 723 there are instructions on how to export the song list to a txt file. I have created a text file of the list of songs in ...

Thanks, I am not much of a carpenter but I just made it from black coated chipboard cut to the same height as the keyboard and put the music stand on it and added some bookends. I have posted some pictures here: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1rLr2gFrwJzo6Exvckme7GsRDGUbxN-1LKsPDUQtOOMw/pub ...

I looked around for quite awhile. I was thinking of one of the Kawai digital pianos but they didn't have many sounds and the menu system was very limited. The price of the Yamaha CVP was just too much. I, too, wanted a real piano action with weighted keys and while the action on the Kawai was very ...

Great that you got it to work. Can you save it as a performance? Then if you select another performance it resets the damper?
I have been checking the Korg website every now and then to see if there is an update, but nothing yet, it hasn't had an update at all.

Interesting idea. Let us know if it works.
I agree, while I like the Havian, it would have been nice to have a few more features like that, plus the pads.

The Havian does have an STS mode which is connected to the Performance menu selections. But the STS mode is not linked to changing variations (as it can be on a Yamaha CVP), you have to change to a different STS yourself when you change to another variation. I must admit it was a feature I liked on ...

Hope this helps

1. Why is there no Midi on the Havian? Page 663 of the Manual explains all about midi connection using usb. 2. When using a Split keyboard, it automatically shifts the octave of the right hand sound lower....why? Is there a way to leave it in the correct octave? Mine does not do that unless defined ...
