Re: Korg Collection 6 is released
My very biased review: - The Trinity is surprisingly fun --I have a knack for 90s sounds, being them cheesy or not. I find it is easier to use and more user friendly than the Triton or Triton Extreme plugins when browsing and generally working with the controls (bigger UI). - The SGX2 pianos sound ...

Korg Collection 6 is released
New additions are "interesting": - PS3300: A good welcome one - Korg Trinity: not sure the value here as there is already the Triton but hey, why not - SGX2: The Korg Kronos piano engine in software version: they are including German, Japanese, Italian..., I think the list is also missing the ...

Re: Is it safe to leave your Kronos on?
I'm considering getting a used Kronos. I keep hearing about how long it takes to boot up. Does it have a "standby" mode, where I can walk away for a couple of hours, then come back & get right to work? Or would it just stay fully powered up for the time I'm away? It has no standby mode. When it's ...

Re: Korg Kronos 3 Has Landed.
I've only had the Kronos for 8 years, and I love it. Hope the Kronos 2-> Kronos 3 library upgrade this summer will give it some new life to this amazing instrument. But if it were to die, I think I'd choose the Montage if only for its plug-in incarnation.

Re: KRONOS Relaunched!
Perhaps the code is no longer maintainable? No codebase that old is ever maintainable. Agree, that lapse of time means a significant part of the original team is now retired. It's obvious Korg keeps the capability of doing or contracting surgical changes like the necessary adaptations to the new ...

Re: meaning and origin of KRONOS name
It is inspired by the greek god Cronus, Cronos or Kronos that was assimilated by the Roman mythology. As Wikipedia states: His association with the "Saturnian" Golden Age eventually caused him to become the god of "time" So it's clear, to the erudite connoisseur, that the Korg marketing trailblazers ...

Re: NAMM 2025 Rumor - New flagship incoming?
Here is a link from a few days ago with all the new songs… Are these the updated 2025 versions ?? Seems like it... it says Kronos 3 - should be the same songs (different order) as what's here on SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/korg/sets/caddaadb-9e6a-433d-8004-65584f96f0ff Not to derail the t ...

Re: KORG and Native Instruments Join Forces for Seamless Integration
I use Komplete 12 Ultimate, it's a very comprehensive software package. Native Instruments seem to concentrate a lot on sample libraries for Kontakt these days. I also have Komplete Ultimate that I slowly upgraded from version 8 I think on several Summer Offers. I think they are good sample ...

Re: NAMM 2025 Rumor - New flagship incoming?
https://www.korg.com/us/products/synthesizers/kronos3/ First, congrats to the teams on the new release!!! As a Korg fan, I am underwhelmed. As a technologist, I cannot but admire Korg's product engineering effort since the launch of the original OASYS platform. But as a musician I love the ...

NAMM 2025 Rumor - New flagship incoming?
The rumor is out now: https://sandsoftwaresound.net/namm-2025-korg-new-kronos/ This blog by Paul J. Drongowski is not exactly a clickbait oriented news site, and the author is all about Yamaha synth internals, he has to have some industry knowledge. Not sure if this is going to be true and not much ...

But probably more appealing is "Korg Collection 5" ($299) which includes all 3, plus numerous other emulations, including Triton, M1, Wavestation, If working with VSTs is a possibility, I think the best option is the full Korg Collection set, as it includes not only the MS20 and Polysix, but also ...

Re: How do you setup your Kronos to your DAW via USB?
I have an Apollo Solo and I tried it the old fashioned way of audio out from the Kronos into the Apollo and into Protools. It's somewhat of a disaster as the audio out this way doesn't sound the same as it does originally in the Kronos. Things don't seem to stay where I sat them in the Kronos mix ...
