Replace mS with Krome or not?

Ok, folks. I bought used Microstation few weeks ago. Now I'm looking for a Krome, and found a good deal. I'm a guitar/bass player and play keyboards just for fun and to learn theory. What do you say, do I need Krome or should I keep my mS?

Not sure if you have done the upgrade or not?

The Microstation reminded me a lot of the Kross I owned (I have owned both at different times) in that it has a modified EDS sound set, very similar screens, editing set, etc... In fact, I believe it has been nick-named a "Microstation 2" on some forums? That would be a more comparative upgrade to your MS in terms of playability (full-size keys) as well as a lot of added functions and modern features. I thought the Kross was excellent value for the money!

The Krome, however, is a big upgrade. If you have the opportunity and finances to close this deal, I personally would not hesitate. I don't think there is any reason not to?
The Krome has a more thorough and full-featured set of sounds with a lot of the waveforms derived (or shared) from the gorgeous Kronos. If you have not had the chance to play a Korg Kronos, it's a pretty fantastic experience.

I own a Krome, and each time I audition a Kronos at a music store I can hear the tone and flexibility of my Krome in it. The two share a lot in terms of effects and sound selection. The Kronos is way, way, more complex but the Krome is a good 2nd.

If you have the chance to try out the Krome first, my guess is you will hear the difference right away. I bought my Krome without too much auditioning, and also traded my Kross towards it. Now, whenever I have a chance to play the Kross, I can immediately hear and feel the difference between the two. It is such that after owning the Krome for almost a year, I could not go back to the MS or Kross.

The Krome is a life-time investment for you to own as a keyboard...

It took me a while but I'm now a Krome owner. Love it!

Congratulations! You've moved up in a big way. The piano and Rhodes models will likely blow you away...
