USB connectivity not working with new Electribe

Is it possible to use USB with Windows XP SP3 32-bit? The official Korg driver is only for newer versions of Windows. All I want is to use the Electribe as a MIDI controller and send MIDI to it from the PC. I can't get Ableton to see the Electribe. 
EDIT: Well, Korg's driver software seems to work fine, but the problem is my computer seems utterly blind to the Electribe when I plug it in to a USB port. Any ideas? Thanks.
