POLYSIX!!!

I have begun to explore the analogue modeling engines on the KRONOS.
Started with the polysix.
Never had a polysix synthesizer, that is untill i got a KRONOS.
I have to say the polysix is among the most beautifull, otherworldly sounding synths i have ever heard.
I could do endless wierd cool music with the polysix.
It is so amazing that a polysix lives inside the KRONOS.
Listened to utube videos of a polysix.
The KRONOS version is spot on.
Probably even better in some ways.
Have not yet explored the other analog synths, or the FM synth, or the wavesequencing.
The reproduction of analogue synths in the KRONOS is stunning.
So many endless wonderfull sounds!

I have a real Polysix. Unfortunately it died many years ago but I still have it. Maybe one day I might get it fixed but until then I can assure you that the Kronos version absolutely nails the old one plus adds some very cool other things.

Except the CHORD MEMORY functionality. I miss that.

I'm pretty sure you can set this in the OSC/Basic page. You can select which of the "pad chords" it uses. Been a while since I used it though.

Well, then, time to try it out on your Kronos!

If the KRONOS had it, I wouldn't be here complaining. TRUST me.

Ok then try again. Any engine, program/BASIC page, middle right hand side it says. "chord" and "source pad". Turn it on and use one of the eight pads as source.
I don't remember if it can be switched on and off with Tone Adjust or SW1/2 but I think there was a way to do it mid-performance.
EDIT:
In case you still don't believe me, here's what the parameter guide says (and it even mentions it has a Polysix mode) :
Chord
Off disables the Chord function.
Bsc (Basic) re‐creates the chord mode of the Korg
Polysix. Each time you play a new chord, it will cut off the previous chord. This option ignores the Voice Assign settings.
Adv (Advanced) uses the Program’s Voice Assign
settings, as if each note in the chord was a transposed set of oscillators layered within the Program.
Poly, Poly Legato, Single Trigger, Mono, Mono Legato, Legato Offset, Mono Priority, and Mono and Poly Unison all apply.
You can achieve the same effect as Bsc, above, by setting Chord to Advanced, Voice Assign to Mono,
Priority to Last Note, and Legato to Off.
For more information, see “Using Chord mode” on page 36 of the Operation Guide.
Source Pad [1...8]
Chord mode uses the chords assigned to the on‐screen pads. This selects which of the pads to use. You can also choose chords using the pads themselves; for more information, see “Selecting chords” on page 38 of the Operation Guide.

The inability to create any chord on the fly, hit a button and play it is what I was talking about. Though, I have not played with the mode you referenced. I'll spend some time with it but I still don't see the TRUE Chord mode here.
Thanks for the info.

Set the screen to pad mode and it does exactly what you want.

Sander is right. The chord pad function on the Kronos is WAY more powerful than the Polysix's chord memory ever was.
Sure, the Kronos' Polysix GUI doesn't include the chord memory button.
But you can still get what you want to happen.

Dan from Korg just posted a detailed explanation of it. I agree. It's a lot more flexible and powerful than the original PolySix chord memory function. I just never "got" it before.
Can't wait to get home to play with this.
