Hi,
Could anyone give me some tips on programming the synth sound from Rather be by clean bandit,
Should I start with a particular kronos patch as a starter, or can you initialise one of the synth engine's patches?
I think it's based around a sine wave but I'm no programmer.
Many thanks for any help.
The sound I'm after starts at 0.27 secs on the link

Yeah it's pretty tricky. I spent a while trying to recreate it, it's not perfect but reasonably close. I'll be at my Kronos on Saturday, I'll try to remember to save the patch for you. PM me with your email please.

If you need it before then, go with a very darkly filtered AL1 saw and add some pitch modulation.

If you want a starting point, try the Bell/Mallets category. It sounds fairly percussive to me. Then again there might be a lot of things in the Synth categories too. You might learn some things along the way.

I tried that too, for a long time, even attempting my own mallet in MOD7. In the end I got a lot closer using a snappy envelope and heavy compression on a darkly filtered saw. I agree there's some woodiness to the original. Probably comes from specific oscillator or filter coloration.

Have you seen this video?

I haven't tried to recreate it on the Kronos, but there seem to be good tips.

I tried putting something together quick-it's a good base anyway-it's the last one in the bank labeled "Rather Be" (assuming I did the save/upload correct)
