Good question. I haven't got a clue.
Maybe solid state memory mounts differently. I really haven't got a clue.

My KRONOS won't read from it either.

Did you try formatting it from the Korg?

Sometimes they can be picky about factory formatting systems, I always format in the arranger if that's how I want to use it.

@sharp may be the usb storage devise you have tried is of high speed. my pa900 reads 64 GB USB without any issues. Also, somebody in this forum has confirmed that pa is able to read 500 GB hard disk. So PA3x should be able to do this

Sadly no, it's not possible to format it because it doesn't recognise it. There's no way to select the USB device.

Thanks for posting that link.
Seems then that for memory which is chip based that the upper limit is 32GB.

This also seems to be a common thing across other devices too.

Well guys , actually there is no limitation in both Pa3X & Kronos USB flash disk management up to 64 GB I already use.
The fact is that I use the faster USB sticks of market like Sandisk Extreme 3.0 of 64GB (up to X35 times faster , 190Mb write speed).

Therefore if you see no media source of a 64 Gb flash disk like this , then use your PC/Mac to format it at preset USB format
in order to get rid of special security formats that they are shipped with.
- Then insert it in our Pa3X slot and from MEDIA/Format just format it and will be ready for use !

Note that the specific Sundisk 64 Gb is as fast as internal HD (though USB 2.0 protocol) and can write a Pa3X ALL.SET of 512 Mb
custom PCM resources in 90 seconds !!!

Hope this helps ...

Consider yourself lucky more than anything else. My one is a Sandisk Ultra 64GB and it doesn't work.

I haven't tried Ultra but other 10 mattes that use the same flash memory can't be considered as accidentally lucky ...

And I repeat for everyone that intent to use this USB flash memory or 64 Gb :
http://www.sandisk.com/products/usb/drives/extreme/
- Format it via your PC/Mac
- You will be able to see it in Pa3X media browser , when choosing it , a format warning label will appear , format it via
Media/Format interface and enjoy ...
- Kronos also recognizes this particular USB flash memory !

I think you misunderstand me.
The exact model you have works, where the two I have don't work. So, lucky you in that you have one that works with the Pa3X.

Bearing that in mind, it's would be wrong to tell people there's no limitation when in fact we don't know that. If there was no limitation then the two I have would work. I can tell you right now the KRONOS hates any memory stick that comes with a read only U3 Partition. You have to use a special tool to remove it in order to get the KRONOS to make use of the Flash Drive correctly.

Maybe the two drives I have contain U3 partitions ?

James , try a full format with your PC in Fat16/32 , even change temporarily format to NTFS and back to FAT and you
will get rid of this boot sector , in case of an actual hidden partition use Paragon partition manager to delete it ,
you're able to workaround this stuff !

We're here to provide information to forum members , so if even one Flash memory works in PaSeries or Kronos then
by definition there is no media storage limitation at 64 GBs and the reason of other flash media incompatibility could
vary from brand to brand and if we want to be more accurate experts can even edit boot sector of USB flash to be
recognized as a SSD , thing I frequently do , even partitioning them in multiple formats.
It's obvious that for me there is no 64 GB limitation for any device since I can emulate the format it "likes".

But the wanted here is not to show our expertise , instead to gather a few information about working 64 GB USB flash
memories that most users can plug and play , you guys already know two working types of them so continue posting of
other working ones , in order to help each other !

Wish You a Happy & creative 2015 !
