MIDI chain problems

I've been trying to set up a MIDI chain and I was hoping you guys could help with my issue.

My setup looks a bit like this:
Logic > Midi out A > Microstation > MC-909

I want the clock data as well as start/stop messages to get all the way to the 909 but for the life of me can't figure it out.

Both of the following setups work the way I want,
Logic > Midi out A > Microstation
or
Logic > Midi out A > MC-909

Also when I hook up just the microstation and MC-909 together either one can be the master/slave without issue.

After scouring the microstation manual I am running out of ways to try and make this work. Is this set up possible? Is the microstation unable to receive and then pass on clock data?

i have your answer.
you're not doing anything wrong.
but, what korg does not tell you is this:

midi messages are sent FROM the microstation ONLY when they are generated by the MS itself... either locally, or in a sequence...

if you are trying to use the MS to repeat midi signals, it will not work. there is essentially no 'MIDI THRU'...

kindof a drag, i know... but that's what is going on here. no midi thru.
you would need to have 2 midi outs to access your gear, or a thru box... so that the output of logic went to both the MS and the drummachine (or whatever else you have)...

Thank you! I appreciate the answer, even though I was hoping for a different one.

JohnRoney is right unless you're 909 has midi thru you'll would need something like a midi box in between to talk to each seperatly.

Have you tried using the midi port on the 909 and using USB midi of the MS it isn't elegant and I'm guessing here if it would work that way but its a try .
