Foot pedal control of program change?

Does anyone out there know if a Korg XVP-10 vol/exp pedal could be used in the switch jack or some other fashion to control program changes like the Value dial ?

I realize the jacks on the Oasys are labeled "switch" & "pedal" respectively and that the operation manual says to use a momentary switch like the PS-1 for program change in the switch jack. It also states that you can use the XVP-10 in the pedal jack to control a variety of things, but program change doesn't show up in that list.

What I'm asking is will the switch jack accept input from the XVP-10 or will only accept "momentary" switches like the Korg PS-1?

I guess you will have to experiment...unless Mike C has an alternative approach. I used the ps1 with my O and it worked well. Now I have it
on my Kronos. :) :) :)

Denny,

I thought about that before I posted, however, I thought it better to ask than to risk possibly harming the Oasys. I'm aware that a circuit that tests for "open" or "closed" (like a momentary switch) can be significantly different than one that recognizes a numerical input like program change is, but I don't know what the circuitry is.

I thought it might be beneficial to be able to dial in a program change with a pedal rather than taking a hand off the keys to do that.

It just seemed to me that if you're using a program that has a low number in a bank it might take a whole lot of clickin' goin' on to get to one at the other end of the bank.

Obviously, it would be better to make your own combie that would include all the different programs you wanted to be able to play, layed out in an area on the keys that you wouldn't normally use in that tune, but I was looking for a shortcut.
