The difference between kronos to the pa's

Post by Yoedsmn »

Hi my friends
Today I want to ask you :
What are the differences between kronos to the Pa3x ?
Does kronos has the ability to do something that the Pa3x can't?
Does Pa3x has the ability to do something that the Kronos can't?
One more thing
Are there any sites that can I order sound&style libraries to the Pa3x, specially oriental sets?
Thank you so much

Hi,
Well, i guess you don't have much experience with keyboards.
Kronos and PA3X are machines with different concepts of use.
Main difference is this: PA3X is arranger keyboard and that means it has styles (beats, rhythms, accompaniment) with controls to have the styles follow the chords that you play, fill-ins, variations, and basically sound like a whole band.
Kronos, on the other hand is what is usually called a 'Workstation'. It has more controls for modifying sounds, knobs, sliders, aftertouch,
With technology the line between Arrangers and Workstation became thinner, PA3X how has a fully functional sampler, sound editing, sound controls so it can be used as a workstation too.
As for Kronos, the biggest advantage over PA3x is the sound quality, it has 9 different engines for creating sound (meaning that the sounds are more realistic, powerful, more perfect for studio usage and live play with the band)

There is not enough space in one post to give you all the differences.
Best way is to connect with the people around you and hands on try arranger and workstation keyboards and see what better suits your needs.

Hope this helps.
All the best.

Hi Salman

Like Nikola, I have them both and there is very little overlap.
These are 2 entirely different keyboards and are absolutely brilliant together.
Kronos is NOT an arranger keyboard hower the KARMA function can be configured such that it is a little like an arranger.
Kronos is a true synth/workstation with the most amazing features not found on other vendors' workstations. It has several sound engines built in.
PA3X is the "true" arranger - designed explicitly for arranger functionality but it also has so additional outstanding features like the sampling mode, vocal harmonizer, etc..etc..
As nikola81 says, there are way too many difeerences to list.

If you are choosing between the two keyboards then ask yourself if you need a true arranger - i.e. INTROs, FILLs, ENDINGs, STYLES of many genres, etc...
if so, then the PA3x is your answer.

Hope this helps
