Hi

my keyboard just started to fail. Not touch, not lights, not respond. I can see that is a ancient problem, is there any solution?

Thanks

Power supply?

M50 is a wall wart PS, no? Same as used as far back as KARMA. Those can fail fairly regularly - there is a short warning time as they begin to fail, then nothing.

Check on-line availability - it doesn't have to be Korg, but it must have the same connector and power rating in milliamps. The correct power rating should be printed on your current power supply; use that as your guide.

sorry, i mean, yes turn on, but last 3 minutes and then freezing, the display, touch, nothing respond until turn off and again turn on. seems to be a generalized problem. i heard some capacitor problem but nothing definitive.

Had forgotten that issue, but yes, there should be a large archived discussion here on m-50's capacitor problem including an identification (part number/location) and fix for the problem.

You may want to call your local Korg repair shop and ask about this.

Since it is a known issue, their analysis and fix should be a well defined and straight forward repair. It may (I'm guessing here) even be covered, if only for the part, because it is a known defect.

Good luck.

Check this discussion, towards the end. Sounds like the same issue:

chechk this

the problem begin when
can't comunicate with host CPU correctly. this the direct cause of these problem. this would happen when the power regulators output has large ripple voltaje, at 1.8v power regulator on KLM 2887. this ripple voltaje could be large because ot the parts tolerance of this power regulator circuit.
this system version controls drive power down at CPU ports, it makes total power consumption of CPU down. as the result these problems should be fixed in most cases according to our test.

however, rarely, when ripple voltage is very large because of range of parts tolerance in this regulator circuit, v 1.0.5 or later, cant solve the problem, in this case, it requires to remplace the capacitor C153, C37 (tantal capacitor)
