I need Roland D-50 Famous sounds for my Korg Krome. Anybody please help me out.

I don't know if this will help -- it definitely won't if you're looking for a turnkey set of D-50 sounds, but if you want to know how the sounds are made (and how to make your own) then the following might be useful to know.

LA (Linear Algorithm: Roland D-series) synthesis was based on two steps using ROMpler technology. Basically, it took an instrument initial transient like the "chiff" sound that begins all flutes and appended it onto a synthesized (following) wave form.

Example: A real flute is "chiff" plus a sine wave - a real flute reads as a sine in the sustained sound so doing the sustain with a wave actually saved a lot of memory and gave a fairly realistic flute. But the same "chiff" sample could also start an organ, marimba, or any other following sound for a variety of new sounds.

It's different from just layering the two sounds together, which is pretty common, because the transient sample is very short -- kind of like changing materials of mallets used on tuned percussion or the difference between a guitar pick and a finger strum.

You have the option to build sounds similarly to LA by making one of your oscillators the transient [zero attack time, maximum volume and decay of 1 or 2 with zero sustain] and following sound using a synth wave or a different instrument. Try those acoustic instruments that have a distinct character, flute, trumpet, marimba, xylophone, bells, etc.

FWIW: One of the better results I've had is using a xylo attack on organ patches. It's not a key-click exactly, but it gives jazz organs a cool "woody" quality that I like.

Thanks for your in depth reply actually I dont have much knowledge as you have so what I need is a ready made set to load from USB and I know Krome can run samples. This is why I asked may be some one still miss the Roland D-50 sounds.

I will doing for you. Please send me a link or audio example with your sounds requests. I remember that I made something Staccato Heaven before but is better to heave the example for more accuracy results.

Thanks for sharing the link with all others. Dan has already sent me the patches. Moreover I have also sent him the original wav samples of Staccato Heaven, Fantasia and Living Calliope for conversion to sound as close to D-50 but unfortunately I don't have Pizzagogo wav samples for getting converted by Dan to Krome format. So I have appealed the Pizzagogo wav samples sounds in this threat.
