This is interesting, because it has midi and cv as well as a sequencer...

Arturia posted tutorial videos which show you how versatile this controller/step sequencer is.
Tutorial Intro
Tutorial USB
Tutorial CV/Gate
Tutorial MIDI
I find it amazing what you get for less than 100$/€.

I'm really interested to see how the beatstep works with the volca keys and bass, as I find I'm getting lost more often than not in their own sequencing.

In theory could I use a korg nano key > beatstep > volca keys ?
The beatstep sequences the volca, the nano key transposes the sequence?

That would be ideal.

Me too

Going to get one, purely for the CV option to sequence some of my old gear, but to mainly sequence the filter.

I haven't read about the beat step yet but I have to ask is the sequencer software based or built into the beatstep?

Built into the Beatstep :) - no need to have it hooked up to your PC/Mac, but you still need to power it via the USB port.

16 steps, 4 memories, gate on/off via pads, and everything else that goes with it (standard CC/NRPN controller etc). Deserves to be a massive seller.

I've heard rumours that it also acts as a MIDI to CV converter (via PC), but no confirmation yet.

Hmm I like he idea of the sequencer, to bad my QuNexus doesn't have one. Otherwise very similar products.

Some retail outlets here in the UK now have them :) - But I'm still waiting to hear from Absolute Music (still no stock) :(

It unexpectedly arrived this morning :)

Up and running in 5 mins - I can confirm it also acts as a MIDI 2 CV converter via USB (that's worth the price alone).

Unfortunately, I hadn't realised how "off scale" my VCOs were - I've always used2 Kenton MIDI 2 CV converters before, which have a scaling ability, so everything was in tune.

The Beatstep doesn't have this… so I need to spend a day recalibrating 15 VCOs

If yountake this stuff serious, you should try ableton with push...

Or even better, NI Maschine...

Personally i love the workflow of both of them..... The beatstep in my opinion will only function well as an extended midi controller of sorts. 16 programable knobs and pads is a nice addon to any synth...

Love Maschine just load up maschine2. But at 99$ this does look very useful.
