Korg EMX and Korg D8 Midi Machine Control

I have a Korg D8 track recorder... If I push play/start/record button the D8 isn't be midi controlled by the EMX... Using the EMX as master and D8 as slave. I read the manual so the settings must be right... Midi light is flashing when I using buttons at the EMX, but the d8 is not controlled by the EMX
