Special thanks to William Busch for porting the Pergatory Creek Mark V Rhodes so beautifully to the kronos. I used it a lot in these videos. And also thanks to the whole Korg Forums community for speeding up my learning curve on the kronos greatly!

are you using factory Kronos acoustic piano programs? The ones you use cut well thru the mix!

The Kronos is in the mix without problems.

AdDeRoo: I did a lot of reworking of patches that were already existing on the Kronos. The piano is the German grand, I played around with the velocity and bias settings to achieve that natural compression sound. I also ran it through the 7 pole eq using the preset "bright piano". I also applied some pretty drastic eq with the standard 3 pole on the mids around the 1k range and the exciter as well. Since this video was shot I bought the austrian grand and it cuts over a live band more effectively with less in the fx chain, I recommend it to anyone that plays in a loud band setting. My reason for buying the kronos was initially the HD sampling capabilities. I already had a bunch of patches in omnisphere that sounded very oberhiemy to me. So I sampled about 10 of my favourites over to the kronos. Out of those 10 I actually used only about 3. There is already so much in the kronos. I also loaded in the vintage keys exs bank and layered a lot of those rhodes under the piano for a warm sustain and bell/fusion attack.

xp50player: That's a first! But I take it as a compliment. That being said, episodes l - lll were a real letdown. Lets hope Disney picks up the slack.

Most people think it's too expensive to add just another Piano.
But I confirm every word of your experience with the Austrian: it's the best Kronos choice for loud band context by far, and definitely needs less extensive tweaking than any of the other Kronos pianos.

Once more: you guys really play great and fit together very well!

The Austrian is both too brittle and too aggressive for my taste. I use it for a Rock n Roll track perhaps but for the rest I ignore it.

Very cool indeed! Who are the rest of the guys in your band? I live in the Vic Park/Ellesmere area. I don't get downtown very often but if I hear you guys are playing somewhere again I might change my mind.
