elementary issues re:M50

Post by nik1 »

Hi there,

I've had a good look thru the forums to find an answer to these questions and to many they are probably quite infantile but if you had an answer to them that would be greatly appreciated. I had a few queries a week or so ago and there really are some kind people out there willing to share there knowledge, if I could...I would.

In the PR guide, (and on a korg USA You tube I watched) there was talk of entering the P1 section of the Global settings on the unit itself, within this area are critical but potentially dangerous settings, master names of banks, tunings etc. I never had access to these pages though some of the information is displayed when it is operating in its editor / vst derivative - I recently updated the operating system and thought that this would unlock the P1 area but unfortunately it remains concealed...does anybody know the secret formula for accessing it?

Also, with respect to the joystick and AMS settings, I am just starting to get a feel for this area. While the parameter guide does spell everything I am quite confused by it complete functionality; does anybody know of a good tutorial that better explains its use an implementation. I realize people on this forum have discussed it at length but in a more complicated capacity than I am able to decipher at this stage in the game.

Thanx for taking the time to read my post and if you could lend a hand it'd be greatly appreciated.

None of the pages should be locked. To select P1 go to Global Mode.

1. Press the PAGE SELECT switch to access “Page Select.”
2. Select the desired page in the display.

There is a programming tutorial at karma-lab that contains some information about AMS. It was for the M3 but should also apply to the M50.
