Padkontrol's X-Y pad assignability

Post by Humamanam »

Hey y'all, it's ya boy Huma here.

I've made a few searches and looked at a number of thread but wasn't able to find a solution to this particular problem so I take the liberty of creating a new thread about it.

The main reason I bought the Padkontrol over other midi pad controller is the X-Y pad. Having played with a Kaoss Pad before and having loved it, I assumed I would be able to use my Padkontrol in a similar manner in controlling certain effects with it.

My problem is that when I try to assign the two axis to certain effects or functions, I'm only able to connect the X axis as a controller. When I try to assign my Y axis on another effect by sliding my finger vertically on the left side, it always re-assign the X function, like the Y one is unassignable or something. Tried to assign it by sliding my finger very precautiously and in different manners on the pad, still no results, it's always the X one that is connected to the function. If it might help, I'm working with Fruity Loops 9.

I suppose I might not be the first one to encounter this issue, having seen other people over the web complaining about the same problem, without receiving an answer that fixes this problem.

Thanks to any one who might have a solution to this.

Have a nice day

The padKONTROL X-Y pad will always transmit two values at once: an X value and a Y value with the X value being transmitted first. If you are able to, we would recommend manually assigning specific CC# values in your host software so you can individually assign the X and Y values.
