Program changes from ext sequencer

Post by dcer10 »

I thought this would be an easy bit of info to track down but I have not found much info.

I'm wanting to be able to send a full program change message to the kronos from an external sequencer ie bank and patch using cc 0 and cc 32

I can get the program working fine, but I have not been able to get the bank.

When I record bank and program changes ie recording the front panel button presses I only seem to get cc 80 value 0 or cc 81 value 0 no matter what bank or program I select. I'm guessing that that's data + and - messages and not program change related?

Does anyone know what cc 0 values map to each kronos bank? Can anyone provide an example of a full bank and program change and tell me which bank and program it should call as I haven't had much success with the bank message.

I am aware that they both need to be sent consecutively to work.

If anyone knows how to get this working, does it also work for combi mode or are there different messages to notify the kronos it's a combi and not a program?

Thanks in advance

I don't have it in front of me so I can't give you a page number. But, it is in the parameter guide search for bank select.

Use Google translate.
Thanks, that's what I was looking for. I was randomly trying values for 0,32. Now I know the right ones!

Thanks for the help on this. I would have never gotten this far without the help.

One question concerning the selection of the Kronos Mode ( program, combi, etc.) when you are filling in the sysex information how do you type in "4th"

I can't for the life of me figure that one out as it just comes out as 04 and does not work

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

What do you mean 4th? If you can tell us exactly what your trying to have happen then there is a chance to figure out the sysex.

If anybody wants it, I translated and formatted the article as a word .doc. PM me and I can email it to you.
