Oasys Booting Problems

Post by offshoretechman »

Wondering if anyone has had problems when turning on the Oasys. I get a display on the screen that looks to be a computer screen and a computer tower with a line between each and a Red X thru it, It's obvious that something has lost connection. My Oasys has never left the house and always been in my Personal studio.
Wondering if someone could point me in the right direction before I open it up and start reseating harnesses and plugs.
Sometimes it will look to be booting and go as far as load the user interface and the only thing lit is the touchscreen and the vector joystick, no sound to be heard.

Thanks

It looks like this user with an OASYS problem, had a similar display on the screen like you:

While sequencing the screen suddenly turned black. After powering up, on the touch screen it showed a computer with a loose power cable and a monitor with a loose power cable. After powering it on and off again the fan started to blow really loud. I turned it off again and now it won't start at all. I have placed a 1 gb memory upgrade last month but had no problems untill now. Could it be the power supply inside the Oasys or loose connection of some kind? Please help me with some advise.

Kind regards,

Hansraj

AND back to having problems after turning off for a few days, same problem either the screen or the control surface stopped responding, took back apart, checked and back to working but I have no faith in the BIG 88 key O anymore

That stinks, as this thread had a happy ending, for a while. Maybe a technician can sort this out?

I'm Looking into a Technician in the New Orleans Louisiana area thru Korgs website and as you go thru the list and select everything the OASYS is no longer a selection although the kronos is there I'm going to have to call them and see if they can work on it and get parts if needed

I don't quite understand what it is about you guys saying "I have the same problem, please help"?

Read these threads. As has been explained, you likely need to get it fixed. There is no SOLUTION you can do by yourselves, necessarily.

Sorry.

It needs service. :(

Hello

True, enough —Does Korg support the Oasys anymore, i.e., replacement parts? ...and, do you know of any Korg Oasys repair resources? I'm in the San Francisco Bay Area but, would be interested in anyone that can help, regardless of location. Thanks, much.
Cheers, ...Sman.
