Slapped onto the front of Korg's website is the slide that reads "09/04 @ 2:30 PM EST. Go to livestream.com/korgusa for a major announcement."

What do you think it could be?

A new synth?

Workstation?

Another shot into the Kaoss series?

Or, a Cow Bell with a Tuner built in.

That thing would be sweet. You can never have enough Guitar Tuners or Cow Bell.

Sharp.

Hm, interesting. Korg founded on 1962 so Korg now celebrates very round 50 years in business. Can't imagine new workstation especially after recent Kronos OS update. So ... something full blown analogue? Micro Kronos? :) ... only if it was iOS app :D Anyway, best wishes and long live for Korg!

Judging by the colors and font used I'd say it's probably Kronos related.

Bet it's a watered down Kronos , M50 style only better than M50 .

I know exactly what it is! It’s a new secret.....
But it comes with a very short warrantee and won’t last long.

Humm, what could be inside it making it tic so hard??? KARMA 3 upgrade 4 free or discounted for KronosX owners…….? (1st guess)

Whatever it is it’s something "Major" that shows the power that KORG possesses over us where our own feelings are the needed key. Now how the heck are we supposed to get any sheep with an announcement like that out? Maybe it’s a trap to capture our attention…..or just a typo.

Wait….as Trinity 2112 mentioned it has the right colors to be Kronos related. Maybe a new monster synth…..”Super KronosXYZ”. The last synth you’ll ever need because it has polyphonic aftertouch and polyphonic release velosity so we can actually make use of aftertouch and have real control of release response. From this point on it’s mostly software because the hardware function basically remains the same so maybe it's time to bring back the past and the good things hardware related left behind. Such a synth would be a religious experience catching up with itself. The Elka MK series like the Yamaha A80 controller and some top of line synths has poly AT and the JD800 has release velosity.

It could be a new Korg oriented Master Controller with poly AT and RV that doesn’t make any sound and just sends and receives command data to process.

It also says: “Korg KronosX workstation….eXpect more”

Oboy……someone needs to set up a countdown timer on this puzzling announcement so we wake up on time. And someone at Korg should get an A+ in marketing.

John^^

Sounds logical since it is announced (but without a date).

Would it be major though?

I know it would be for Kronos users but probably not in general.

It would be nice to have a TI type multi-timbral editor though, fingers crossed :)

At this point the announcement could be anything, from a new editor to a merger with another company.

Maybe Roland has decided that instead of going through the trouble of building a KRONOS competitor it is easier to simply merge with KORG and make the KRONOS work for them.8)

Sounds interesting, some Korg converted Roland or Yamaha EXIs.

Considering how popular the Monotron series is, I somehow expect a Poly/Megatron... with real keys

EDIT: Damn... I see someone has already thought of it and produced a mock-up.

I can't imagine Korg shoe-horning a Kronos into a rack
